| Springs for Spring feed? Hey gang, I know there's a thread in here somewhere about how to wind a feed spring, or who can make them, or where to buy, but I can't find it. So, where can I buy or instructions to make one for a very unique project I'm working on? Thanks --Joel |

| I remember back in the late 80s, we would used magazine springs from a 20-guage shotgun. or maybe it was a 410? Crap, I'm not sure which now, but they had just the perfect constant amount of tension, and were pretty common parts laying around at gun-shops. These days though, with gunshops being fairly rare, and specialized, might not be a viable option

| MCB Member | A 12 gauge shotgun is just about the right bore size... .70 cal. If the spring is too stiff you can sand it down. Extra magazine springs are still easy to find. It's common for people who keep a shotgun loaded all the time for home defense to swap magazine springs every month so they don't become soft. I used to just make springs from piano wire.

| A god in my own mind | Joel I made my springs on my Sherline when i was making spring feeds. Using a slow speed. Wrapping the wire around a 3/8"s rod makes a spring thats about 1/2". If you want I can make you some. . How long do you need them?
