Question Has anyone made aluminum 3357 cylinders before?

Hi,
I know that agent smith posted about this - Aluminum 3357 Cylinders - and I've been prepping to do the same for the past 18 months. Has anyone made aluminum 3357 cylinders before? How well did they work? Did ball breakage reduce. Tips on how to improve?

IIRC the problem with boring or forcing the 3357 to accept 68 caliber paintballs is many pieces would need to be scaled up and remade. There's also to issue with valve volume- there wouldn't be enough volume to get a proper velocity out of the stock components.

It would certainly be possible to remake a 3357 in 68 caliber but the key word is remake

A 68 would have to be rebuilt Hellboy big, but what the hey I'd wear a red suit!

Smiley asked me if I had a pic of my old ones but they are truly gone, the last one was lost in a game several years ago(I never was one to hoard my old stuff, I've since learned better from my friends here at MCB )

As I said in the other thread the only thing that was super tricky that the guy who made them for me did, was the detent rings, which were a slightly oversized broken loop of round spring wire. You squeezed the wire loop smaller, pushed it into the cylinder then it reached an oring channel dug just inside each chamber and snapped in, holding itself. The ring ends touched when in the channel, as he had filed a tiny bit at a time until they were the right length.
I'm sure there are other methods that would work, but those were fine.
In addition in talking to my friend who got them from me, I remembered that after ordering a few of them over 5 or 6 years(I played 30-40 days a year with those babies), I also had the pawl that pushed the cylinder around remade of steel. This wasn't really necessary but man did that piece last forever.

Wink

no, no, not .68 caliber....50 caliber aluminum cylinders is what I was asking about and is the kind I would like to have made.

Jake, Please PM me your addy.
Also, I thinking of having the pawl made in metal too since the plastic one can also round off and malfunction.
