which solder is used on brass marker's? is it silver solder or a standard lead/nickle solder?

I am pretty sure it depends on the application. IIRC Palmers uses lead solder for guns unless they are going to be powder coated in which case they use the silver solder due to its higher melting point. I am sure if I am wrong one of the resident experts will chime in.

why are they not brazed together? to close to the melting point of brass?

I guess I'll just spot for some silver solder then.. sounds like its worth it
