Pmi direct feed to kp... Sorta

So, I'm making my recent purchase (thanks paintjunque) of a pmi direct feed (pic below)

http://www.mcarterbrown.com/gallery/...m/DSC02073.JPG

Into this.. before you guy's get excited, this is a photoshop of a photo I borrowed from pillage.. below will be his, and mine below it.. lol, hopefully your not mad I took your photo but it truly is a fine peice of brass to work with

so Pillages brass-

and mine

It was kinda hard to "make" that brass feed tube in photoshop, and patch the wood grain where I had to cover up the direct feedneck, and the plugs in the feedtube are actually a section of the bolt that I copy pasted.. but I think it came out pretty well..

I can make these trigger groups fairly easy, theres not much to them.. so yeah it'll be a cool project I'll be starting as soon as it arrives, already have the feed tube brass from tycemener (butchered spelling i'm sure) and I plan on giving it a crazy patina.. probably a purple splash, or blue.. maybe just black, but whatever.. since this is not really a peice of history I'll be having fun with the stock too.. think wookie bow crossed with target stock..

but yeah good times

that will look good. you'll need to patch up the hole from the df probably. then attach your sidetube.

thats what I was wondering about.. should I just solder the tube onto the hole for the direct feed? or should I patch that, and solder it down like a side feed?

So what you need is one of these. They aren't for sale, but what I will do,if there is an Airsmith that needs one to make a clone,I will send one to him as a working model.:

I've seen barrel material or feed tubes cut and opened up a little so they slip fit over the hole in the barrel, then you just solder/braze them in place. But you could always just use a piece of brass sheet rolled to fit (or copper plumbing if you don't have access to the brass).

I have a pmi/kp conversion that was created just over 6 years ago by MadCustoms.

You do know you will have to notch your pump handle, to allow for room for the feed tube if you want it in the normal position? If you mounted it somewhat high and to the right, you do not have to notch the pump, or deal with a patch. I think it is funny that my idea inspired others.
