The story all begins when I traded for this St!ff! 10" Freak tip. When I say 10", I mean 10 visible inches. So that makes it what 16" total? ![]() Well that's not quite my style. Hmmmm, I really like my 12" Matchstik setup, but the .685 back is as small as they go... Now what? I'm not too much of a fan of 'that' company, but I love me some carbon fiber. What to do, what to do? Wait I have it! Why hello Mr. oversized insert, how did you get into my garage. I banish you and the other three that found your way here. And take this leftover 1" derin rod stock with you. ![]() A little over a week later, they were back... but different. First came the oversized insert, always leading the way. ![]() And then came the rest of the revolting lot. ![]() What's this? Did they bring some sort of peace offering? Is that a map back to my house? No, couldn't be. But this thing looks like that delrin I sent away. ![]() Wait a second, what's going on here? ![]() Like a glove, eh? Just a touch over 2 inches of insert and .005" peeking out of the back. (The gray coloring you see is paint from the internal threads of one of the markers. It just gets everywhere doesn't it?) ![]() Now this, this looks muuuuuuch better. But what should I call you? Well, 13" overall and sexy black carbon fiber. I have it, you will be called 'The Ace of Spades'! ![]() ![]() Calm down. Calm down. You will all have your turn... maybe. |

Thanks for the comments guys. I chose the delrin because I had some left over from a previous project. I didn't see that being used anytime soon, so I decided to use that instead. If I like how it shoots I will have an aluminum back made to replace it, when the need arises. I have the know-how, just lack the machines to make it, but I can't take credit for how well it came out. The internal threads are amazingly clean. If anyone wants the drawing, I could probably offer them. I want to see how it shoots before I do that though, just so I know what people should expect. From the looks of it though, it should be a good experience. EDIT: I would like to give credit where it is due, but wanted to wait for permission before posting anything. cs900, from PBN did the machining of the back and inserts. He has made parts for me in the past and I have only good things to say about the results.

| Post Whore | Python Paintball, Give Your Balls A Squeeze Sorry, man. I use one of these kits every day, and am planning to buy more soon. They even have a lip on the front of every insert that keeps it from coming out for any reason. Out of all the barrels I've ever used, this one combined with a .686 DYE Classic has been my favorite for months now. In fact, I read not too long ago that Cockerpunk uses the exact same combo. Oh, the Python ones are also made of aluminum, which I think I would prefer by all accounts. Some of us folks are a bit too hard on our barrels, no matter how hard we try. I also have a barrel bored out to take a Python insert in reverse. The lip still helps, since it gets trapped between the barrel and gun body.
