G4 body thickness

How thick is the G4 body? i want to make one fit in a T8 mp7 shroud by opsgear and the little bugger is too wide to fit in. Im already sanding down the interior of the shroud to make space but can i also sand a bit of the sides of the G4 as well? If yeah, how much of it? or is it too damn thin to sand it a bit without ruining the functionality of the marker?
