| I Am The Admin | Rev-i owners... Are they worth it?
I'm considering one... Thoughts on it? I'm looking for objective thoughts. Not fanboys... How's the grip frame and angle of it? It looks nice... But how does it shoot? Thanks in advance. Curiosity is killing me, and there doesn't seem to be a glutten of used ones on the market for me to snag either.

I always heard that they were a Threshold on steroids, which definitely isn't a bad thing. My old Threshy was one hell of a gun. I know they use almost the same exact bolt, but beyond that, I couldn't tell ya. They are very nice in person though, and very fun to shoot. They definitely have more kick than say, an Ego, but it's nothing horrible. And the OLED board can do a lot of stuff that most other boards can not. Definitely nice guns, though.

Sorry chief, can't comment on the Rev-I, but like DM, I understand they are similar to the Threshys, which I do own. I love my Threshold, and though I don't personally care for the looks of the Rev myself, if I could get my Threshy upgraded to the Rev-Is specs and features, I'd be more than happy. Don't know if that helps at all, but it's the only 2 cents I got. ~Z

I've never owned one personally, but I used one almost every weekend for about two months last year. It shot good for sure. I liked the gun, but it wouldn't be my first pick if I were to buy a mid-high end spoolie. The trigger is a cool idea, but it drove me halfway nuts. On occasion I'd turn it sideways in game. Air efficiency was also lacking, it isn't up there with the others in it's class. That's just me nitpicking though. The guns shoot good. |

disclaimer: I believe my team is still sponsored by DP, though I don't particularly see myself as a fanboy, nor do I personally choose to shoot one. If curious, feel free to refer to my gallery as a pretty good snapshot of what I'm into. with that said, in no particular order, here goes... I like the Threshold/Rev-i platform a lot better than the G3/G4. There's something with the longer bolt and lower operating pressure that make them feel more stable and less kicky than the shorter DP guns. They're tolerably well-made, quality control seems one step above their lower-priced markers. I don't particularly care for the feel/shape of the trigger on the Threshold, though it works. The Rev-i has the flippable one. As mentioned, sometimes they like to wander a bit. I also dislike the dated optical board on the Threshold and the Rev-i's lack of a tourney lock. Certainly, the boards can be replaced, but it's still a negative. The regulators can also be fussy and wander a bit. I've observed that incredibly small adjustments result in huge FPS swings. Consistency is pretty good, and efficiency is middle of the pack... 1300-1500 from a 68/4500 if you're lucky. If you can get used to the trigger/optical board, they're easy to shoot fast. These guns are capable of bonkers cycle speeds. Maintenance is easy - they like a very light amount of fresh lube on the bolt. Solenoids are serviceable/rebuildable, which is a perk. 'Feel' is subjective, for sure, but OK for most people - I find them easy enough to point and shoot. Overall, they're not my favorite electros, not even my favorite unbalanced spools, if I'm honest, but they aren't bad little guns. As far as unbalanced spools are concerned, I strongly favor a well-tuned Freestyle (or a Geo, if you're going newer) over DP's offerings. They offer significantly less kick, are quieter, have similar efficiency, and a big personal preference bonus for me - microswitch boards. I've also found Freestyles to have more of that intangible 'soul' factor, but that's another big personal preference quality. Your results may vary. That's about it... Hope it helps...

I have a pre-order Earth Rev-i. It has been one of my all time favorite guns. The board that comes with the gun is amazing. After the first 2 or 3 cases of paint, I lubed the reg, and ran the tune assist program on the board. The gun shoots amazing. I have never broken a ball and the gun is really consistent. It is even lighter then my Vice which is pretty damn light. The gun is pretty damn efficient. I can easily shoot 5 pods and a hopper off of a 45ci tank.

get the techt engine for it and you will be extremely happy I myself hated the trigger, sold my revi within one week I currently own a dp g3 se and like it alot more than the revi and i also have a fx, with the techt law ram and the techt hush bolt, the fx blows away the revi in my opinion, and you can remove that switchblade trigger and opt for a violent trigger or critical ( i have the critical) |
