| Active Member | Traveling with Markers?
So, i searched with no avail... Me and my bro are going to florida next week for vacation, and would like to take our pistols and play at a local field while we are enjoying the break from cold ohio life. Does anybody know what is kosher in terms of air travel with paintball markers. I only plan on bringing my Delta 68 pistol. I plan on bringing only the marker itself, along with the holster. I can buy paint and 12's at my destination. I would also probly bring masks as well, don't want to get stuck with crappy rentals. |

If you're driving, which I doubt, you'd have no problem putting it in the trunk. If you're flying, as RJ said, just put it in your checked luggage. I dont think they'd have a problem with it being in there, because what do pro teams do when they fly? |

Good reason not to tag marker bag as firearms as members "T. A . C ." and Wild Geese can tell you. DH-10008.jpg RJ |

The reason, oddly, is that the government thinks that the luggage handlers will steal the firearms if they see the tags, and sell them into the black market. A good corollary to that is to make sure you do not have any paintball-related stickers, tags, or markings. That is just asking to be stolen. Anyway, some airlines have specific rules about paintball and other sporting equipment. Do not register them as firearms. It helps to pack them with paintball magazines, so that if an ignorant TSA inspector picks your luggage for its "random pick", it might be able to figure out what it is before it calls in the ATF

When I was flying to the event the lady in line ahead of me declared her 9mm pistol she had in here checked bag. My bag of paintball gear didn't even raise an eyebrow.

No 12g, obviously, but I usually will leave a paintball or 5 in a tube near the marker, just so they TSA folks can come to the 'oooh, its not a shotgun' conclusion especially fast. My Line SI Bushmaster with the Quickstock has me a bit worried, but anything anodized red or blue or green should be easy enough for them to figure out.
