Hhhmmm...

I was in a long car trip a while ago, and I thought of something interesting. So, there is this air rifle, Which can be filled completely with about 100 pumps with this thing, or this(or any other paintball tank, for that matter). What I was thinking, is that if you duplicated the guts of the pump(and made them stronger, you'll see why) and attached a motor, you would have a portable fill station. I was thinking it would work sorta like this:

I know AGD was thinking of something like this a while ago, but I have heard nothing of it since, and this design would pose a notable advantage in that it would fill faster(if it worked). It would for certain cost more, because a good gasoline motor would already be $500-ish, not to mention the pump and other hardware. But overall, I think the price would be worth it, because if a band of outlawers need a fill station, they can all just pitch in. Has anyone tried this before? Your thoughts on the idea? I just hate how I get all these ideas only after I splurge on a big ticket item.

There is an update thread on AO. The prototype has been built and tested. It works well. TK is just ironing out the details of how it will be built and priced.

Oh. Cool. Now I won't have to lay off a ton of money on designing something new. Thanks!

You could hook a bicycle up to it and make a fill station/workout machine.

I recall a while back they were either proposing or marketing a hpa pumping system similar to a bicycle pump. The problem with the system was it require a lot of pumping and got very difficult near the end. Now if you made a long enough lever you may be onto something although it would be unwieldly.

"Simpsons did it"

A motorized, high pressure hand pump already exists. From reading different reviews, it isn't really suited to fill a bunch of paintball tanks on a weekly basis.

These pumps also become very hot during prolonged use, to the extant that it may have to stop and cool down as often as the operator does.
