If I were to have my pick, and say "poof" all barrels are this thread...I would go with the new A1 threading. Short shank, easy to unthread, as well as small enough to allow better milling off the front of the breech.

Just my pennies.....

Yeah. Except the discussion that Simon presented wasn't about changing the thread pitch.

The idea that he presented is to make a final standard by which "autococker threaded" barrels should follow.

And to reiterate, I think that all the sizes should be standardized for everything on the autococker barrel assembly except for the pitch diameter of the internal threads, which should be up to the manufacturer. In my opinion.

FYI, this has stalled now that KEE owns JTUSA and it's subsidiaries (mainly WGP).

Why would that stall it? You'd think that now having access to whatever technical data/input they had in threading their bodies would help the process.

Forget Metric, I like my thousands of an inch thank you very much.

I think that the 98c threads are the best ever, IMO. The only downside is you're not going to find a tap and they require a bit thicker material at the front. Quick twist threads are awesome, and I hate AGD detents, hence why I have a cocker barrel on my mag.

Ive also wondered why Tippmann has two different threads. I know the P/C and its predecessors had the same threads, then they released the M98 with new threads. Okay, its easier to cast M98 threads, but why couldnt Tippmann make A5's with M98 threads when the A5 was released?

The originator of this thread (manike) works for KEE.... so I kind of think things aren't stalled.

I kind of have a feeling that KEE purchasing JT/WGP would only make this more likely to become real.
