Perhaps we Tennesseans can learn a thing or two from the Dutch.

Thats what the English do.
Speed Cameras
*thumbs up*

That's exactly what I was going to say.

My biggest problem with them is that they're...and I've said this before...just collecting supplemental road tax.

I've been following this in England for a long time and what they do there is instead of putting the cameras in places where it would be dangerous to speed, such as small residential neighborhoods, they put them in places where the road is long and strait and you can see far and there's hardly anyone around. In a nutshell, they don't put them in places where most normal people drive slow because it would be dangerous to do so...they put them in places where it's perfectly safe to drive faster.

If you're going to do stuff like this, do it for actual public safety, NOT money.

I'm going to go off topic a bit but I really hate these low profile (for lack of knowledge of a better term) lights on cop cars and/or unmarked cars. I remember a conversation earlier in life where a highway patrolman was aked if he was bothered by people flashing their lights towards on comming traffic to warn them of a patrolman and his answer was along the lines of "no, it gets them to slow down and drive the speed limit which is what we are trying to get them to do anyway."

People see cops they drive within the speed limit. If the cops hide, only the people getting tickets drive within the speed limit, well and those that would drive within the speed limit regardless. But then again I'm forgetting that they are now revenue collectors and not law enforcement.
