Though the Sovereign was not based on the Sterling. It has a Sheridan layout. The original prototype did have a sterling valve, with the pneumatic shoehorned into the grip, but the design was scrapped in favor of the current design.

I remember a couple different semi kits for the sterling back in the early 90s. The Sterling "Rocker" was that I remember the most. It was sold directly by whomever owned Sterling at the time.

It's a drop-in e-cocker thing.
The PGI Firestorm was a open-bolt ram-bolt kit that worked like a Timmy. It kinda looked like an ECocker, and PGI did advertise it as a closed-bolt, but it was not.

No, the big cap screw in front of the trigger assembly is where the front screw hole for the trigger goes originally. So the trigger assembly is about 2" back from where it would go if it did not have the kit on it. All the parts that are raw aluminum and the bolt and pin is the kit . This is a prototype so if it would have made it into production it would have been anoed red.

I was wondering how the gas was routed. The original sterling was through the back, and the valve was in the back as well.

I assuming with the IMP being a self-contained sheridan valve, you simply slid the valve all the way forward towards where the original bolt carrier was located? Cool.

I had a left feed sterling. Sold it on MCB a year or so ago. It's floating around out here, somewhere
