What ever happened to the Fastback Cockers?

You know.. the Docs machine cockers? While I wasn't a big fan, I found the idea neat.

I once again find myself wanting to customize a gun. Looking around... I was just thinking... What happened?

It seemed like a good thing, and there were a lot of people interested in it... So... Why did it die?

Now that I've thought about it a bit more before posting.. I wonder if WGP had a letter sent? Hmm... Anyone know? I'm going to do some research...

And then recently in May (end of the month)

And no replies there either.

The SITE was http://www.electrococker.com

I sent Doc an email ( we'll see how that goes :) ) asking when he'd have the Fastback kits in solid black ( the website shows other kits as "in stock" ).

No reply yet

Yeah, well...

I've sent Doc a lot of e-mails lately asking what happened to the items I bought from him.

I'll probably end up trying to get a refund from paypal if things go the way they have been for the last 30 days. :(

I think my experience may have something to do with why fastbacks aren't more popular. As a businessman, Doc seems to be a great artist, but a inconsistent businessman.

Yes, poor ol Doc is so far behind on stuff. I traded him a trio of 'cocker barrels he wanted for a 1" Scepter tip probably close to two years ago now. Still don't have that scepter tip. Doubt I ever will. Don't really care to go to the trouble of trying to get it out of him either. I've just written it off to 'should have known better.' I don't hold any harsh feelings for him about it either. He's a damn brilliant guy and I have huge amounts of respect for him and the work he does. Wish I had half his ability. I know how hectic things can get when people are shouting for this job and that job to be done and you are trying to keep your mind clear enough to sort out some problem or another. I'm sure he forgot about ever making that trade.

I'd love to see the fastback cockers come out myself. I'm a big half-cocker fan.

when he occassonaly puts stuff on ebay, thats when you need to buy. he does really well about getting stuff out for ebay auctions and protecting THAT feedback. Were I ever order from him again, it would be paypal only and I would make it clear he has just until the paypal deadline, he passes it, file. thats about all you can do with him.

The fast backs are about the only chopped cocker i actually like the looks of.

You may be better off asking Dave if he's seen any around.

Chefdave 07-10-2006 11:53 PM

Short answer is that it's Doc.

Walker waited 5 years for a custom bolt from Doc...

Doesn't someone have a piece there that's been 6+ years? I seem to remember an MCB member having the record.
