| . | One-Armed-Bandit (and Whaler Bandit) Interest thread UPDATED 1/26/2011
DISCLAIMERS: -This is NOT a Pre-Order thread Hey, I'm trying to put together a list of interested people for a run of One Armed Bandits made by RTP. These will be "updated" with some cool features that the originals didn't have. Features: -Clear elbow (they fit Viper and Intimidator ball drops snugly)* -Vent holes located either on the top or the back to relieve blowback gas -Black PVC body (not painted so no problem with paint flaking off) -PVC Collar (painted black) -8" total length -Clear back cap to see how many balls you have left -around 85 ball capacity -1" ID elbow, you can sleeve it to fit smaller feednecks (or ball drops as Rick likes to call them) -Whaler option available -Straight feedneck option available -Left feed option available -Looking at a price of around 45$. *These are very strong, they are more likely to shatter than break at the joint area. Production ones: For ****s and giggles: Below are pictures of mine, which is at least 15 years old...and still going strong! -Basically what they will look like, but without the scratches. The pictured pod has 85 balls in it. -Collar rotated to expose loading hole -Quick loading AND unloading ![]() -The collar fits perfectly into modern day pods -Here are some oldschool ads for the original PVC OABs: ![]() ![]() ![]() And here's Rick's description of the bandits: "little history on the one arm bandit. I see in some of the threads posted that people are saying they were not made especially for me. they were. the very first one ever made was made by "fast Al" (some say he had the first auto trigger thus the name "Fast Al). anyway he was a hoser. he needed a larger loader and began playing around with different designs. the first ones had ramps inside so the balls would roll to the middle. this was very hard to build and only a few were done. next came the "V" shape loaders, then just the plain flat ones were found to work just fine. Al had a very demanding job that kept him very busy, didn't have time to produce loaders and meet the demands. He gave glenn and I the Ok to continue evolving the loaders. we had a hard time building them by hand. took to much time. On team viper were the Bowles brothers. they had contacts over seas. they went to Taiwan and got the molds made, and started mold injecting them. they were made for vipers. that is why you don't see any that fit other guns. I don't like the hose clamp around the neck. you have a nice looking custom gun with a loader that has a hose clamp on it. UGLY anyway B CUBED manufacturing was born. you had options of a hand made one, or the mold injected ones. after a while we quit offering the hand made ones, and just made guns. Part of our agreement with the brothers, was we got ours at cost. they were some modified to fit other guns, but that was done by the owners. Some nelspot type guns had the same diameter ball drop as the viper, and worked well on them. but originally the first ones were designed, and made just for vipers" Interest list 1. Will the elbow be built in or will it be straight necked for center feed guns as well?
