An honest opinion of a retailer......

Just an observation, they are very honest at Paintball Gateway in Gardena. I went in the store yesterday looking to drop some money on a new marker. I spoke with an older Asian gentleman regarding an awesome "looking" pump gun. Well I had the marker in my hand and I asked his opinion of it. He said, "Not for me it just costs to much money to get right."

I told him I had a Chipley. He said, "Why would you want to buy a Pinto when you have a Cadillac?"

SM-1, He basically stated that it takes a bit of work to get it dialed in.

PBGateway is awesome, bought everything from them before I moved to North Carolina for school.

SM1s were very popular at one of the fields I played at. I never heard anyone complaining about them. Their early runs had some issues with barrel threading iirc but the newest runs are rock solid for the price.

But CCM is still better.

Most Sniper style pumps, even new, benefit from a springs kit and a little bit of fine tuning. CCMs are absolutely the exception.
