I'm looking to pick-up one of these and I've read good things about them. Which what is the difference between getting a Brass or Aluminum bonnet. Pros/cons plz. Do we have a dealer here on the forums for them?

Brass bonnets are better if you have a gun that doesn't have an on/off and you need to screw the tank in under pressure.

Ayt. Bummers Benoit, your up in Canada. Shipping is going to be $$ :S I was hoping to a get a bnib one for a better deal than what I found. The going price is about $59.95 + $10 for shipping. Is this tank exempt from hydrotesting? I thought they were since they pass the 2 by 2 rule with flying colors. However, I noticed the ads for these say 5 year hydro. :S

I haven't had to deal with it yet, but after 5 years you may have to educate the field or store or wherever you get the tank filled. Also, fields can refuse to fill a tank for whatever reason. Just FYI.

Hmm, I'll check mine quick... well it has the date of birth but my 68/45 just shows date of birth too. Pretty sure it shouldn't need hydro, though. I got a brass one on my custom tank (68/4500) for my 'Mag, I believe the aluminum are somehow more fragile.. From Ninja: "NOTE: Care must be taken when using an aluminum bonnet to prevent thread gauling with the markers ASA. Use a lubricant (Vaseline or DOW 33) on NINJA REG threads. Do not force the bonnet into the ASA. Install and remove the NINJA REG slowly from your markers ASA." |

I got brass. Still not as nice as chromoly or stainless, but better than aluminum. And yes they do dent if you drop the tank onto the threads from 3 feet off the ground onto carpet.
