Put Mike of TechPB on the case. I believe he is in the Florida area. Hopefully he lives close by and could talk some sense into the field owner. If that does not work, then I say go to another field.

Do you really think that a field that won't spend the money to replace a chronograph will spend the money for insurance?

I'd say go find a different field to play at and steer as many people away from that field as you can...I know that's kinda tough considering the lack of fields in FL.
Either that or bring a hand chrono with you whenever you go anywhere...may help

And I know it's bad, but I at least make sure I'm not shooting hot, I purposely under power my phantom by tuning it. So, today I had a bad issue. I was shot over 30 feet away by a kid shooting his ego, and mind you, I was wearing my BDU Jacket, with my elbow pads underneath and that hit popped and left a HUGE welt and it was black and purple. Had it hit me from 10 feet on bare skin I would have bled for sure and it would have been a nasty hit. I was PISSED! I went to the co owner of the field and told him, "you need a chrono!" and showed him the hit. He responds by smirking and asking "did it hurt?" (while a bunch of agglets stand around him) and I said "hell yeah it hurt, and it still hurts! You need a chrono!" He just smirked and chuckled. What should I do? I am concerned for the safety of others at the field. Imagine if that were a little kid instead of me that got hit, from close up on bare skin? It would not have ended well for the kid. However, I don't know what to do. Should I talk to the city, or take a legal route and sue? Can I do any of the following? Is there any one else I should contact, because clearly the owner won't do anything.
leave that field and never return. that's the best thing a customer can do.

i am trying to find a new field, and am looking at possible places. but like I said, I am doing this for the safety of their future customers. I want the sport to grow, I don't want to hear of a poor little kid getting hurt there.

You could try contacting the city and/or local police and tell them you believe the field is operating in violation of their insurance, possibly not be carrying any insurance, and are knowingly fostering a hazardous environment that exceeds the industry standards for the available safety equipment.

I'm not sure if the field is technically violating any laws, but asking if the city may be open to prosecution for issuing a business license to an uninsured company will likely catch their attention.

it's their business, not yours. no need to feel bad when your hands are tied.
