I haven't worn a kilt since I was a teenager. I should get at least one for formal wear, and maybe another for paintball, just because I can. But I really don't know if I should go with one in New Brunswick's tartan for my home province, Prince Edward Island's for where I now live, or Canada's tartan.

I bought a cheap one on ebay to play paintball in...but I'm not wearing it to work. Good way to get fired.

If you're not violating health and safety regs, or strict uniform regs, then they sould be hard pressed to fire you over it. (Assuming you're not bending over a lot, sitting with your legs spread, or standing somewhere overly breezy.)

There was an episode of the A&E "Airline reality show" where one of the airline agents forced a guy in a kilt to put some pants on, otherwise they would not let him board.

The agents could not cite any specific health or safety violations, but insisted that it made some passengers "uncomfortable". The guy refused up until the plane was just about to leave, and changed.

I think this is the attitude you will likely find at a workplace, and most everywhere. As its not specifically religious, or protected otherwise, I'd imagine if your boss is an aѕѕhat, he could screw you over.
