I miss the old days..

Yeah yeah. Not the 'Old' days, I miss me and my little group of friends, and a set of lowend markers. I miss my powerfeed spyder TL and when the highest firepower any of us had was a sparkly new Diablo Mongoose. I miss the giddy feeling of buying a second hand 9 volt Revvy and an elbow that could actually support it. Not really the 'newbie' amount of experience, more so just when simple equipment like that was all you needed. I dont really know what it is I miss so much about it, but I know that playing a game of speedball with a completely busted *** spyder TL that wouldnt shoot above 170 FPS and wouldnt recock, with a droopy, loose hopper and elbow made me miss it.

I think Im going to put together a real grass roots gun with some class..

I hear ya and have always felt this way to some degree. Just put together an old school Spyder and played with it last weekend.
Constantly looking for a predator cocker.

Hmm. Must be a Spyder thing. I had one of these guys a long time ago.

It was the very first real paintball gun I ever had. I was a bit careless with it, and let it get abused and trashed. For whatever reason, I felt really bad about it falling apart, and hunted one down. Found the same gun on ebay, won it for $45 bucks. And it's in really nice shape, to boot.

I think I felt bad because it was a gift from my dad, for my 15th birthday. It's silly, but I smile every time I look at it.

Ah, the old days...

Working to save up $100 to cover gear rental and 1K rds and spend a whole Sunday running around an old car factory covered in saw dust. We were cool with a Pro/Am or 68 special. And then there were mags and autocockers...

Yeah, there is something to be said about those rose colored memories of golden oldies. Back when the fastest marker around (the group we played with) was an EM-1. We thought we would get wasted under than incredible rate of fire.

it's all in the company you keep

I'm almost at the point where I'd rather only play a few private games a year than deal with walk-on rec games.
don't get me wrong, some of the walk-on games have been an absolute blast, other times... not so much

I should really try to get back into outlaw/renegade games

We had some great times. Many "technical difficulties", but we had fun. I'm currently trying to build up a small fleet of loaners so my friends without equipment can try it out.

I miss playing woodsball behind my friends trailer in the woods...that was fun.

I recently purchased a m98 just like the one I had back then...and I shoot the thing all the time. I'm actually planning on building an outlaw field so the guys I used to play with can get back together.
