I realized a year ago that I had way way to many hobbies. Hobbies eat more then just money, they also eat time. I was shooting USPSA events, Mountain biking, Camping/fishing/canoeing, Paintballing, shooting 3d Archery events, Duck/deer/goose/turkey hunting, etc. etc. It was all taking a huge toll on my pocket book and time spent with those I care for. So I have slimmed things down. I now only have three paintball markers. It's all I need. Shooting, hunting, archery have all taken a back seat to Camping and Mountain biking. I've just narrowed things down, sold off extra equipment and am much the better for it. I enjoyed doing all the hobbies I had. However I enjoy my family and mountain biking more then the rest.

I have too many hobbies too... luckily my desire to work with any one at a time comes in spurts. But between my truck, paintball, and landscaping my yard as soon as I get ANY spare money it instantly drops into whichever I've been thinking about most when I get the money.

Just dropped a ton of Money to get my Viking milled and anno'd, a couple weeks ago I bought high steer arms for my D60 axle for my truck, and about a month ago I picked up some paving stones for my walkway to the deck.

All 3 make me incredibly happy, so as long as I'm getting to do SOMETHING on my hobbies then I'm a happy panda.

I only have 3 hobbies, but they are all pretty darn expensive. I play paintball, airsoft, and do WWII reenacting. It gets hard to do them as much as I want when my only job right now is getting alittle cash reffing groups at my local field on the weekends.

I didn't give up my INTREST in the other hobbies. I still have a bow. I still have paintball markers. I just don't have 8 dozen arrows, five bows, latest sights and equipment. I don't have six pump markers and four semi markers. I've boiled both down to two bows and enough focused equipment to get the job done IF I have the time. Same with paintball. Three markers, one semi, one stock class, one vert feed pump.

I've had a few hobbies over the years, but never really more than one at any given time. Photography has always been a passion and has always been there, however.

Started playing paintball in the mid '90s. Around 2000, I got into rock climbing. Soon realized, not a lot of rocks to climb around here. I dabbled in firearms and computers a bit, but still played Paintball occasionally. Very occasionally. Photography was there, but not at the forefront. Finally, I got into motorcycles and building them. Spent a number of years in this as my main "hobby".

After my divorce, the money and drive were both gone, but Paintball remained. It's since move back to the forefront and Photography has taken on more of a roll in my life. It's not stepped up and away from being a "hobby".

If I only spent $600 on paintball I don't know what the hell I would do with the rest of the money! See- honesty!

Chadders- I'm with you. My thought was well, shoot the little bastards! Or at least snare them.

Nebraska doesn't have mountains! That should be an easy hobby to get rid of!
