I chalk most of it up to bad reactions to the ROFLs and LOLs and "PM me your real offer"s
If I were selling something for $300 obo, and I get an offer of $100, I'd just respond telling them "no thanks, looking for more" If they come back with a response like "good luck" just ignore it and wait for a more serious buyer, but at least by being polite I leave things open to see if they toss out a second offer. So if they reply "$200?" I can reply "$250 and its a deal" or something like that.
There really is no point in throwing snide comments into BST communications, since they do nothing to help facilitate a transaction. If it did help I'd begin all my sales threads with "Hey lowballing Douchebags buy my guns..."

But calculated it as a % of initial price.

I would say most old guns are around 20-30% of the value while collector items are around 50-75% of the original value

True collector pieces increase in value.

I don't think paintball is at that point yet. Maybe one day it will.

Most KP series markers sell for more than their original price.

Could be that the problem is lots of kids don't know what the original retail value of a classic really was.

Example, original minimag MSRP $260
If I've got one that is in cherry condition I doubt I'll be accepting $100 (38%) for it.

Problem is, that's about what the market is right now.

Hell, if I waited for some kind of percentage of new on all my sales, I'd have 120 guns right now.

I sent someone a text about splitting up some of their guns they were selling on CL. They simply replied "No." so I replied "Ok, no problem, keep me in mind if you change your mind. Thanks anyway, Silas."

They shortly replied back "how much would you pay for it?"
