They do maintain velocity better, but a velocity shift is always possible when switching from one type of paint to another.

My T9 would chrono almost 20 fps higher with First Strikes compared to the local tiny paint. A larger normal paint that matched the barrel better would most likely reduce this difference.

It seems to me that the only reasonable chrono procedure would be to chrono the marker with any and all paint that might be used in it that day be it FSR or standard ball ammo and the highest velocity should be in accordance with the field limit.

Cool that you get to use FSR at your local, gratz.

I would probably see the same thing. I have used nothing but my 679 for a few years with the local paint.

CD: the Whoosh hasn't been tested with FS yet, but it's amazing with regual paint in my echo chamber of a garage.

I try to hold it aligned when I drop it in, but I find that if you push on the fins it will straighten up pretty easily.

FSR aren't going to work with a .679 barrel, just saying...

When I used them with a .684, they had a noticeable drop in velocity. Anything smaller and they would barely fit in the barrel. These rounds have almost no flex, so you really need to be shooting around .687-689 as previously said.

What I was meaning is that the local paint needs a 679 (all I shoot currently are closed bolts) and putting that paint through the stock Trracer barrel would not give me an accurate comparison of paint vs FS. I would need a like-sized paint to use in the same barrel as the FS to get an accurate comparison of the two when looking at FPS.
