Just got First Strikes approved

At my local FPO no less. I had contacted the owner a few months ago and asked what he thought. He asked if they were the fins that you glued on, not the recent ones, he remembers when they first came out. I said they weren't and he wanted me to bring some in when I got some.

So, today after playing I brought over one and the Trracer I was hoping to use. He looked at the round and wanted to know a little more about them, which I was able to explain. Then he looked at the Trracer and said, "Sure, let me know how they work."

Pretty stoked as I was expecting a flat "no" because he isn't the most personable guy. Seemed pretty pleased that he was able to see the round though.

better explain to him and the refs that those things chrono differently. Guy sounds like he is a little behind the times on new paintball technology.

Speaking of. For those of you who do have fields that allow these, what are the chrono procedures?

My Trracer is FS only, so that's all that would ever get chronod in it.

Do they chrony high or low? Id almost bed on high because of the cavity but Im unsute because of the fins sometimes hitting the barrel.

I've heard that it's about 20 fps higher, but haven't put much thought into why. I just got my first box of 100 on Thursday, so I'll find out soon enough.

In my experience, and this surprised me, FS rounds will chrono within 2-3 FPS of normal paint, provided it has the same bore size as the FS rounds (.687-.689).

Oh, and if you want Empire to make an FS loader for the Trracer, tell them so on their Facebook page.

i was under the impression that FS didnt have higher velocity, but maintained velocity better.
But nonetheless, i do believe that you will have to test it and show it to him over the chrono just so theres no misconceptions.
