Because if it's a bright colour it can't be a real gun... ![]() Oh...

That letter is missing some key arguments. - the law encompasses all paintball markers, even those that do not look like milsim replicas (it's not specific enough) - the law hurts local business: many of the paintball/airsoft stores selling their products across the US are located in California. They would be forced to move their warehouses to other states. - the law endangers police officers by providing a false sense of security - a criminal can paint real weapons to match the colors prescribed by the law in an effort to induce hesitation. Police Officers facing a reality of such weapons will stop associating colors with threat levels, resulting in increased endangerment of law abiding citizens. The bill is an absolutely pathetic attempt at gun control and I'm glad to live in a far more sensible state.

The other thing two is that, numerous oldschool paintball guns would also be illegal, SMG-60/68's, pretty much all paintball guns will be banned. I'm sad, because it makes the socialist bastion of Illinois look conservative with what California is proposing.

I really don't feel bad for the LAPD, or any cops, they have more firepower, logistics and ammunition than David Koresh ever had. You'd have to be a f^*#$'n moron to mess with cops, especially LAPD. For crying out, any salaried cop or highway patrol can possess and use a machine-gun, so I don't see how those 'poor' cops are going to be outgunned.

| CCM Pumps | Read the Bill - NOT about Paintball SB 798 Senate Bill - Bill Analysis The bill discusses BB guns and Air soft (form of a BB gun.) Yes some of these can look real. This bill does have a place. HOWEVER a colored gun is NOT the answer. What stop me from painting my real gun orange? This issue needs to be addressed properly and this bill is NOT the answer. Education and restrict sales like "real" guns for items that look like real guns. If a person does not understand what it means to point a gun (real or fake) at a person they should not have access to it. In CA we have to jump through hoops to get a "real" gun. (test, age limitation, background check, etc...) So why not make people do the same thing for a BB gun or like gun. Note: most Paintball guns do NOT look like a "real" gun. Those that do should be restricted and have consequences if people do not use common sense. |

what is everyone getting their panties in a wad over... this is about airsoft and bb guns... if you read the resolution it states that paintball guns are exempted in this bill specifically... airsofters are just pretending anyway, what does it matter if they are painted in colors? |

Also, It sucks that paintball gets all the bad press... I'm sure many more crimes are committed with baseball bats or golf clubs each year and nobody tries to put restrictions on them.
