Barrel plugs are typically frowned on due to their tendency to come out if more than one ball is discharged. They do look pretty spiffy though.

Ah, that's the beauty of these wine stoppers. They adjust to expand uniformly in the barrel and won't come out for love or money until you unscrew the knob. Just like the old LAPCO red locking plugs, only without the off-center scratching.

Now with RTP Vipers (and perhaps other unimaginably tight bores) it's another story--these are almost too tight to work comfortably, even before you screw the locking bolt down. For my Palmers and Sheridans, these rule.
