It's just stupid. There was an isolated incident where a kid got shot by police for brandishing an airsoft pistol at them, and then some dumb senator jumped all over it and now this is happening. Hopefully it won't become a sheep herd thing with the other States where they all follow the leader right off the cliff....

Yeah, I know they are putting it to a vote again but I don't recall it being rewritten to include paintball. Source?

Guys,

It doesn't just effect california, It could potentially burden all paintballers.
Think how many companies are based out of cali?
Also, once other states see this, they jump on the coat tails of california and ride the pine.

From the NPPL facebook - "On July 5th the public safety committee approved a revised amendment that would repeal the state pre-exemption rules for BB devices, including paintball. This is not good as the industry could be faced with dozens of conflicting local rules that may be enacted. The coalition is trying to get further amendment wording introduced but the state legislature is on recess until August 15th"

Ah, so the bill itself excluded paintball in the end, but the safety committee didn't pass the bill and instead just removed both from the state exemption list.

If the bill had passed "as is" paintball would have been exempt, but airsoft would have been thrown to the wind, gotcha

Not sure what is happening, but whoever runs this page is trying to hide something. On one of their posts, someone said "You can keep hiding our posts" and someone else said "What's with the delete spree?" Within a minute those comments were gone. I said "It's interesting that you keep hiding these posts" and then I quoted one or two of the deleted posts. Then I said "Why are you doing this?" Within a minute, that was gone too. I refreshed the page a minute later, and apparently I no longer like this page. So, I click the "Like" button, and re-like the page. Only thing is, I've been blocked from commenting and posting. WTH?

On the link above, under their page's picture is a spot where Californians can send the legislature a letter.

Senator's name is Kevin deLeon. He's a major anti-gun activist. He posted on his twitter account recently "Only government employees should be allowed to own guns."

Some in the PB industry actually support this bill, as long as it excludes speedball (yes, not paintball, but speedball)
