Did we do the right thing?

Me and some friends were playing a scenario yesterday and one of my friends walked back with a T8, we were like "how did you get that?" and he said "I found it on the ground.". Well it still had paint and air in it so we figured someone probably lost it that day. So me and my other friend pretty much forced my friend to take it up to lost and found.

My friend was pretty mad that we forced him to take it back. But I said "If it was your gun would you want someone to return it?".

So did we do the right thing of taking it to lost and found or should we just of let my friend keep it? Thoughts?

It was the right thing to do but somebody that needed a push to do it wont see it that way.

Karma is a funny thing. I'd say you totally did the right thing.

I once found out that a gun I had bought was stolen. I gave it back to the proper owner as soon as it was clear that it was his. I figured that I was just out the $450.00 I had bought it for.

A bunch of forum members took up a collection for me and cleared my costs. Doing the right thing often has it's own rewards that you'd never even think about.

You did the right thing. I'm sure even Velcor (all hail!) would be pleased.

Yup, definitely the right thing to do. Kudos to you for standing up and insisting your friend do the right thing as well. It's one thing to know how you are supposed to act, another entirely to enforce that behavior in the people you play with.

Example:
Played turf Sat/Sun this weekend, and on Sunday one of my teammates was being complained about by a walk-on turf player who said he had shot him in the finger (30 yards+) and his finger was swelling pretty badly even though he was wearing gloves. He wanted my teammate to re-chrono.

My teammate immediately asked another teammate for an allan key, and adjusted his reg down before he re-chrono'd. I called him on this and asked him if he already knew he was shooting hot and he told me to go away.

Personally? I think this smacks of a lack of integrity. One of my other teammates told me to lay off and have a little trust for my friends but I was miffed. Why should I have to play with people without integrity cheating during walk-on practice?

Yes, you did. I wish everyone had that much integrity. I just had a $150 backpack stolen out of a wash machine today. Supposedly they teach integrity in Boot Camp, but I haven't seen any evidence.

Well if you lost a $200 handgun, I'm pretty dang sure you'd want someone to find it and turn it in so you can get it back.

Do you really have to ask, Josh?

No, you did the wrong thing. Finders Keepers, international law. It's in the Geneva Convention.
