The Max Booms shells are just that, shells. As you can see from the video posted, it's powered by its own air source. Goblin shells leave much to be desired, this is a much better solution.

Special made for paintball shells, or re-purposed shotgun shells?

A shotgun shell fits a freak insert perfectly. That said, I will be acquiring a box of full brass shells for this beast.

However, it is awesome that it's coming to fruition. SO TORN...SO TORN...
I kinda agree with you here but at the same time really how many kids these days really know about Lapco let alone a Grey Ghost. Besides these days how many younger PB players would be patient enough to use the MaxBoom with it only having 2 shots before reloading.

So Im pretty certain even though It will be mass produced you can count on it still being pretty exclusively a niche gun and if Lapco decides its not selling enough for them then they'll stop and use the leftovers for parts so I see it as a win win. Ill def be in line to get one once we have a final price and release date.

Also I think more kids will be clamoring over the new Tippman Crossover before they even think about this without seeing it at the field first.

Thats just it, and IMO remove "younger" from the statement.

Everyone thinks they want all this cool stuff (mag feed, stock class, DRV, DSG) and after miles of lusty words figure out it is tough. Some give up all togeather and hit the BST with phrases like "it is cool, just not my thing" or cry for larger mags, hopper adapters, constant air, etc. Others spend countless hours working on Qload mods and other crazy attempts to make something do things it was never built to do. For those who truly crave the rush of being outgunned, the Boom will not let you down.

This piece is exactly what it looks like, true badass.
I am stoked!
