Yes but I have always found that brass is more prone to the elements and build up so IMHO SS has a leg up. Brass also requires up keep to maintain that smooth scratch free finish where SS does not. I have never been a fan of brass in any paintball related items. | |

BB Cats, by nature... Brass contains self lubricating properties, and allows for less wear in the long run. That, and Glenn Palmer also says that it is better suited to spherical gelatinous goo

Actually the bevel will be really helpful to me, and possibly everyone else with bored barrels. Mine was bored with a slight bevel to help center the insert I am sure other machinists have tried it to. From the looks of it the OG insert as actually too short. When the barrel is screwed in you want a slight lip there to help push the insert into position and hold it there securely. Its possible GOG changed the inserts and tips slightly to better center and hold the insert.

On their face book page,it's said these are a limited run. So get them while you can. I have brass, aluminum and SS inserts. So I think I'm covered all around ![]() Later, Blackrain

So... just an update on this. From what a very nice guy at Project PB explained to me over the phone on two separate days, they have had severe quality control issues from GOG (producers of the inserts). The 0.675" SS inserts seem to be coming through, but as I ordered a 0.679" insert as well, they've been refraining from shipping out my order since Feb. 5th. They finally called and said they would ship the .675" SS insert, and offered to refund me for the 0.679" SS AND send an aluminum 0.679" or continue waiting for the 0.679" and send it to me separately. I opted for the former and have now received them. I don't have a bore gauge with me at the moment, but I'll try to check the actual diameter and concentricity later on and report back. Either way, the surfaces are smooth and the geometry appears accurate!

hmmm guess I am even more glad I got my full set before the re-release and I had a friend measure the small bores that I did get ahold of then.... major bummer to hear tho because historically the SS inserts were the best of the lot before... |
