Ontario is still kicking *** if we look at it in terms of per capita. California has the population of Canada roughly...Ontario only has a few million.

Canada (as a country) always leaves me eluded somewhat on its geographical breakdown.
It's such a wacky country in that sense.
For instance... Do you feel as though Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are considered Canadian regions? By real Canadians of course lol.

I list regions on the list only because Canada is too vast of a land mass and have always pondered how its citizen felt in regards to their neighboring regions?

Here in the states we feel our continental divide lies by either north vs. south, or east and west.
So much simpler.

Canada is easily divided into 10 provinces and 3 territories.

Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are provinces...to add to the confusion they are both part of 'Eastern Canada' and any 'Western Canadian' will tell you that Newfoundland and Nova Scotia both belong to the 'Maritimes'...Nova Scotia does, but Newfoundland is its own region all together...which sometimes encompasses part of Alberta...

Regionally Canada breaks down into:
Western - BC, Alberta, Sask and Manitoba.
Central - Ontario Quebec
Eastern- Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI
Maritimes- New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI
Northern - Yukon, North West Territory, Nunavut
Prairies - Alberta, Sask, Manitoba

Canada has a population of roughly 35 million (California...) and 90% of the population lives within 150km of the US border...

We have two official languages, English and French as well as 100ish some odd recognized native languages...and Newfenize(sp?)

Geographically Canada is the second largest land size nation in the world (just behind Russia). London England is closer to Halifax than Vancouver is...

The nation has everything from Permanently frozen tundra to Deserts, to rainforests to lakes that make some seas jealous...

We produce 90%(?) of the worlds supply of Potash (yes its called potash...not ashes from pot...) and 80% of the worlds supply of Mustard seeds!

We pay for things with loonies...

tuque, double double, poutine, 2-4, eh!

It's usually Ontario, Quebec and everyone else....

But for the most part when I lived in B.C. it was "B.C" and then the "Maritimes" (Everywhere east of Quebec) and the "Priairies" (Alberta, Sask, Manitoba) and those bastards in the middle of Canada that decide everything for the rest of us

Greatest export of Newfoundland is Newfoundlanders though. Sometimes I think the Military is 80% Newfie...
