almost convinced the wife, once. then i started playing speedball, and she saw the welts.

she'll come out eventually, i think. especially since the RoF race is kind of a thing of the past.

I've asked mine once or twice to go and she wasn't all that interested. It's probably best, since I'd be a little (OK, a lot) overprotective and punch out somebody for overshooting her. She and the kiddos go to her mom's normally, which is nice.

She used to be curious about why I play a game that results in pain, and bruises. Now she just rolls her eyes when I get in the shower. She knows it was a good day for my ego when I come home with little or no bruising, which has happened quite a few times.

I have pretty much made it a pre requisite for any girl I date for longer than 6 months that they have to come and play with me once. they dont have to play the entire day, just one game is enough, and I always treat them to whatever they want after.

After thinking about this for a while, I realized I have a ton of female friends who will NOT play under any circumstances.

A couple have an extreme phoebia of gun/gun like things, and some are too worried about welts and bruising. Some of them bruise really easily, so I can see their side of it on that. More of them, mostly the ones I've known longer from back East, aren't really outside type women. They exercise and are fit, but I don't know if they ever would bother running up a hill unless the treadmill on incline counts.

Others have medical stuff going on. I can't blame someone with ongoing disc issues not wanting to go out and possibly make it worse. I don't even go if I'm hurting or not feeling well. Health is a bitch.

Some are legit, but from what I've seen on the whole men tend to be into more outside type of activities than women. No idea why.

30 years ago the wife used to stop by the field and drop off sandwiches for lunch.
Now she just waits at home until I'm done playing so I can cook dinner...

I can't complain either way because she is always up for going on my road trips when I travel to play. She would never play in a million years herself though.

I'm one of the lucky few - my wife loves playing paintball, especially if she gets to shoot at us big, tough guys with her bright pink markers. We played this last Saturday evening, and Sunday I was getting dirty looks from people because they thought her paintball bruises were signs of me abusing her.
