Amen to that. I've customized several old Classic Mags and these things are HEAVY with a hopper and a 68/4500 tank. But I'll be damned if they aren't fun to play with!

Like mikeds80 said, recent electros have no flavor. I bought a used Ego8 last year just to see what 3/4 of our homefield players were fussing about and while the Ego is tight, light and fast, I still prefer any of my Mags and pumps to it.

"Classic" markers you say....?

(Now has an AKA 2L+ and a Species Trigger guard)

I'm the same way. There's just something about modifying a marker to the point where there are only a handful of factory parts left. I'm currently working on my "end all" of Intimidators, after this I think I'm going to try my hand at an Autococker. But the current marker is still going to be my pride and joy if all my theories work out. Still on the fence on whether to send it out for milling on the body, as that's about the only factory part left.. (Different marker from the Classic Intimidator).

I've seen hundreds of pics of mags and phantoms. They're all different! And just as unique as their owners, yet, the same awesome guns at heart.

I hate how there is no customization today. everyone owns the exact same setup.

I love guns with soul. I don't like cookie cutter guns.

i like you.

but yeah, i don't play paintball competitively. i don't need the latest high-tech gadgetry to have an edge on my opponent. i play simply for fun; and for my money, i have more fun with my soulful classics than i do with modern-era, mass-produced markers.

that's just my personal preference, though... perhaps some players are able to have that kind of bond with the newfangled markers (or don't care), but for me, they're nothing more than tools... they get the job done, if that's what you want, but they don't feel special in the hand.

This is why I love mags and cockers, I've never seen a gun that is exactly the same as mine, ever. And I've got 3 cockers and 5 mags. All my guns have somewhat of a life to them and can be temperamental at times too. While others might find this to be an draw back I've come to enjoy it. Though its never something that doesn't allow the gun to be used. Its just nice to feel like you have something with a personalized and character in your hands....

^^Can't agree more! You can line up two identical cockers/mags w/ identical parts and neither will shoot the same! To me that is the best part of customizing a gun, having it fit exactly what you want! Even with my "cookie cutter" ION, I have it set up exactly how I like it to shoot and even though it looks like most others, it many things on it/set that make it good for me!
Also @ the OP, I'm very jealous of your find! I have been looking for a species/A bomb/ ND timmy for the right price for a while that I can customize to my liking!!
