Sometimes I'm real thankful that I'm in an "executive" position as the main park operator around here. The downside is that we don't get to play that much ourselves, but when we do it's in line with our mission statement entirely. If it doesn't fit the atmosphere we are going for then we can actually push it away.

The secondary part of that is that the role will inevitably make you an expert at dealing with and influencing all sorts of attitudes.

I kind of approach it i guess the way most people play golf. Im not really playing for or against anyone other than myself. For me its all about the gratification of continual self improvement. I really dont care about whose winning or losing around me. But i find that lately ive been pretty disapointed in that ive been ending the day with less and less gratification. Usually due to a combination of things like

Too many kids making me feeling unchallenged and old.
The fields around me getting increasingly worse
Not being able to connect with any group of regulars at any fields. Just havnt found a new clique
I dunno it used tl be so fulfilling now im left feeling empty most of the time i guess thats my reason for being negative. Id give anything to belong to that tight group of paintball buddies again.....
