I have a pair and love them, I haven't however used them for paintball. My pair is a thinner sole and where I play usually has rocks, lots of them.

I know you guys are pretty loyal it seems for VFF, but some guys like myself have webbed toes so we can't wear them without modification. There are other options for the barefoot/minimalist shoe wearers one company Vivobarefoot makes minimalist shoes that don't have separate toe pockets. Some are amphibious such as their Ultra Pure I don't have a pair of these I chose the Achilles for my amphibious pair but don't use them for paintball. I know Merrell and New Balance are also coming out with minimalist shoes too.

I have used these from Merrell, they are also very good imo. Fivefingers are great, but to be honest, I dont really see the advantage of having seperate pockeets for each toe. Both shoes do the same thing, but you dont have to worry about things sticking between youur toes with a normal barefoot shoe. Just my opionion

I have some TrekSports for outdoor stuff and plain KSOs for the gym. I don't think I would want to wear them if I wasn't on a trail or sidewalk or something, kinda lacks the protection of shoes, and the ankle support of boots.

Are you playing on turf or outside? I've done both, but when you play outside you have twigs and grass between your twos.

I have a pair of Bikila LS for wearing everyday and Flows for colder weather and sports. They work fine for paintball, you just need to be careful of where you step and what you step on.
