I voted kilt, because, well, it just makes more sense.

I have the Spec Ops Ultralight Fusion pants and jersey. Padded elbows and knees, but the rest is made of basketball shorts mesh, which makes it so so much cooler during the summer when everyone sweats like wildebeests. And when you're soaking wet with sweat and a nice cool breeze comes through...good lord it feels good.

A friend of mine uses his motocross pants, they seem to work well enough.

If you look back to the olden days of paintball (late 80's/early 90's) you will see a close resemblance to motocross clothing with the paintball pants and jerseys of that era. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the original paintball stuff was left over motocross stuff from prior years. Heck, one year I wore some of my paintball gear for Halloween and got confused for a guy in motocross apparel. Of course that was when I was using a JT Flex8 head shield.

Considering that JT got it's start with motocross and BMX gear, paintball was just a natural adaptation of that stuff. Although the first paintball pants, JT's, were actual cargo pocket pants. Oddly enough, I bought mine in black (You could also get them in olive, and I think even a blue jean denim color), and they had a cargo pocket on the left leg, and a slash pocket on the right side. No left slash pocket, no right cargo pocket, and I think that they did have back pockets. It wasn't until after that they started making their paintball pants that look very much like motocross stuff.

Cargo shorts, it gets pretty hot here to wear BDU's and paintball in. I like throwing my slider shorts on underneath and strapping the knee pads on so I have some level of protection.

Today I wore some thick old navy khakis with volleyball kneepads underneath. I'll see how long they last, I might switch to over the pant hard knee pads if they get too torn up.

So, I have arranged a quick poll to find out what I should switch to using.

You vote, and explain your votes, and I will decide what to try out based on the results.

Sound good?

There are 2 types of BDU fabrics. There's the cotton, thick ones we called "winter weights". The other is the rip-stop thin ones called "summer weights". You could tell the summer weights by the small square pattern in the material. They made sense for me because they were a dime a dozen.
