I will donate $100 to MCB in the event of assimilation of A.O, I would have lost interest in paintball all together without A.O.

Have Automags export the database... I have extra server space. It's real simple actually.

Edited to add: If those guys need any help or assistance getting it moved over to another server (no matter what you guys do) drop me a line. After a big server move a year or so ago here, I learned a LOT and wrote it all down. A lot to consider actually. So hit me up if you have questions.

I made this suggestion to export the database as well.

The fact that they will not do it is an indicator of something not being quite right behind the scenes, upstairs, etc.

Somebody still wants control of a forum they no longer care about, and a product they no longer care about, even as they both die from neglect.

I don't care much for that.

But I do care about the data.

If they don't export it, I'm considering writing a crawler script to flat out download all the data so I can archive it myself. Threads and posts are linearly numbered and can be pulled straight from an http request. I estimate maybe 100 lines of code to hose the data down and flatten it in a directory structure. Well, flatten is the wrong word; there will still be some form of hashing. I hate these stupid databases.

TK is technically gifted, but he is sorely lacking in other departments.

Is it hard to fathom that tech guys being paid to do data work like migration and site configuration are gonna work for free. I know the average is about a Benny an hour billable here...
Carter, do you remember how much time it took you to migrate? Did you have to set up the server from scratch too?

My guess is its some technophobic reason more than some sinister plot.

What's the technophobic reason for clutching onto AGD?

Not AO, but AGD?

Glad I am not the only one who knows this... Its vbulletin. It doesn't seem like many people know how easy it is to import old forum info into the new forum software. Vbulletin makes it automatic. There is very little you have to do.

Everyone acts like he has a server in his basement or something. To me it doesn't look like he is running on a dedicated server because there are more then a dozen other domains linked to the same IP address. Unless they are all his websites. its possible.

Tom has said several times that they own the server that they're on.
