While looking for a Spyder for the Build-Off...

...I got distracted by this:

Refurbished from the factory, and only $55.50 shipped. Thought I'd give the electro-thing a whirl again, we'll see how long it lasts.

It's a JT, and it is a spyder clone.

JT Protium, mid-level JT spacegun Spyder clone. Action Village on eBay has the refurbished Quadra (top-end), Protium (mid-level), and Tetra (low-end), plus refurbished JT Excellerator 3.5E (electro) dirt cheap. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZactionvillageQQhtZ-1

Probably explains why it's a factory refurbished one. Haven't decided if I'm going to see what I can do to it, or to play with it a while.

AKA Fan
Good thing about refurbs is that normally someone at the factory has actually tested it to make sure it works. I'd almost be more inclined to buy one of those refurbished than brand new as QC has always seemed a bit lacking on the new ones.

The gun had a piece of paper stuffed in the vertical feed that said they test all refrubished guns to 1000 shots before letting them go.

I shot some paint through it yesterday and it shot pretty well using some OLD Marbs (almost a year old). Couldn't aim worth anything to begin with (darn vertical feed!), but sighting down the side I did OK. I can use a regular CO2 tank with it, but my PE 88/4500 tank just starts venting out the ASA vent hole and I can't get it screwed in all the way. I compared the valves on the tanks and they look to be nearlty the same, dimension-wise, perhaps the pin on the HPA sticks out just a tad more than the CO2 tank.
