Thats on of the reasons I dont ship guns to Canada, or any other country for that matter. Only time I thought about breaking that rule was to trade a gun in Australia, since its so hard to get a badger here.

It's truthly easier to import plutoium here than paintball markers in Canada.

Importing stuff here can be a PITA at times...customs can suck...Like the time when we were crossing the Canada/USA border and they sezied our 2 cans of chicken noodle soup... but not the 4 "illegal" flats of beer beside it....nor the 1/2 eaten chicken in the fridge. Guess the guards wanted soup for lunch...

idkfa: Very good posts, learning a lot from it. Very interested to hear about your results with ballistics lab. Supid laws yes, however they are logical if you follow paintball/airsoft/airgun laws.

Looking for all Canadians on MCB, building a list by province. PM me to be added to the list.

I remember when all paintball markers were illegal in New Jersey. Had something to do with a gun that fired a projectile over a certain caliber or something like that.
I was not playing in 86 but I know several people who were. In NJ, anything over 62 caliber is considered weapon of mass destruction. Keep your comments to yourself. Shotguns were exempt of the law though. Short story, Ray Gong of Top Gun Paintball sued the state to have Paintball exempt from the law since it is really not destructive. So the courts ruled this was ok to Paintball in NJ legally. However in the beginning of this, WGP made 50 and 60/62 caliber versions of Snipers to circumnavigate the law but there were other factors involved. I don't know if the exhibits are still at Top gun since Ray sold the place a while back.

However, the law may be changed again cause every so often there is a group or politician who calls wanting to change the law back requiring a Firearm ID card (which is another NJ joke) to purchase Paintball guns or just outright ban. I think it was a few years back in which a prominent law maker was attack and he wanted to get Paintball banned all together since attacks in the area where increasing. A few years further some ahole with a Vm decided to shoot up about 35 people at an area mall. The cop on the front page of the regional paper had his picture waving the VM in the air calling it a weapon of assault and should be classified as such. Several fields were interviewed and showed the real story. People shooting each other in a "safe environment"(in the form intended to be used in).

Hey I just live here. I have lived here all my life. There are things that we do that other people don't. There are things that I think are a joke.

As for Canada, I agree about not shipping there. I had many offers on my past sales for shipping to Canada. I said no cause I know there will probably be a problem with transaction at the border. It's just easier to sell in the US. I feel sorry for some people in Canada when it comes to paintball.

later,

It's not anywhere as bad as it might seem. 99% of the time, markers make it across the no problem. I have yet to lose a package. Probally moved 50 markers across the border with no problems.

I have had markers shipped to Canada from the States weekly for quite a while. I've never had one held up.

dude Aussy is even worse, we used to have to mill pumps and fit them on our markers (didnt matter if it was complete bollocks) like fitting pumps to our box shockers, mags etc because it was illegal to import semi auto "weapons" into the big dusty.
