Just wondering what most people watch paintball videos in. Do you actually fullscreen the video to take advantage of 1080p, or watch at 720p in an embedded player/YouTube page?

unless it's pro division PSP or NPPL most paintball videos are fairly boring. I think the best I've seen actually had me in it lol (video from Carnage) where it was a guy walking the sidelines with a helmet cam zipping in and out to catch close ups of people gunfighting. Most videos you can't see dick all of what the person is shooting at. With that said I'm partial to Akimbo Assasin videos and his are done right. If a pb video is done properly you're damn right I'll watch in 1080p only way to experience the action being shot properly.

Gotta go big! Why waste my money on a retina screen if I am gonna watch in low quality?

If it's good I'll bump the YouTube player up to the large size and watch in 720. If it's really good and it has an option for 1080, then I might download it and then stream it through my X360. For my own use, I like the Contour set at 720p-60fps. I've compared the video from 720-60 and 1080-30, and the extra resolution isn't worth the loss of recording speed on action video.

Honestly, I find I watch most videos at 720 in the expanded (but not fullscreen) YouTube player. GoPro/Countour footage becomes pretty grainy at 1080p so I'm not even sure it's worth posting stuff up in that res. You could probably render the 720 out at 1080 and fool everyone. |
