I actually miss playing in people's backyards, seeing what they have come up with, and playing in new places with new people. It's probly been over 5 years since i played 'outlaw'...

My local field is great to play at, but they are only open for scheduled groups currently, and those groups generally aren't the highest quality players. I find myself holding back. Yeah, attempting to coach them while on the field is sometimes fun, i really miss going up against higher caliper players.

It helped that I rode my bike there. The saddlebags were rather full

The field I play at has a good system, ramping is the ONLY mode allowed if your gun lets you, and that is limited to 10BPS, checked by the owner himself who tourney locks it, then the refs randomly inspect if there are any problems, however its a small crew of regulars so there really aren't. New guys are encouraged by everyone there, they play with tourney players in open play split evenly and we almost always have our spares and loaners to let them try, and Sunday, the field gets closed to ALL open players/renters, its team practice(if your not on a team you can usually jump in) and that's when it all gets serious. The rest of the week its a lot of fun. Overall its a great crew and i wish more fields were like it.

That doesn't sound fun at all.

Eh, its more to prevent the teams who come practice from cheating. Plus we play points mostly. If you ask the owner/ref to shoot semi and they verify by looking at your board your usually ok. It's a mixed bag like everything else. I wish things were different but I live in upstate New York and its the only field worth going to within 3 hours(the one other never has more than 4 people show up and its about 10Mx50m, way to small for my taste).

I was using a stock class marker against open class markers.

I was NEVER overshot . While I was obviously outgunned and ramping was allowed it was really not out of hand.

I witnessed NO cheating.

I had fun on a commercial field. Maybe things are getting better . Maybe I just take myself less seriously.
They're not ALL bad

Believe it or not, I feel like since 2008, as the economy has made it harder and harder for people to be 3-4 case/day douchenozzles, behavior and general attitudes have greatly improved at the commercial fields. Either that or I've just gotten better at avoiding them, who knows?
