I shoot first and ask later. If I can't see your colors I have to assume you are going to shoot me. I've been dead man walked on, assumed wrong, or got plain confused too many times. It is easier to apologize.

Also, it's not "friendly fire" there's no such thing. It's fratricide.

It happens, maybe if large bands were placed around hoppers vs. very tiny plastic strips tied around an arm, it would make a difference. I backdoored the other team during a woods ball rec game, as I took out their last player, 3 of my teammates opened fire on me...it happens!

In the big game around they started to use a mandatory headwrap with team colour. It really helps to identify the enemy. Takes away from the guys that like to use consealment but no-one needs those anyway It doesn´t help with the kind of friendly fire I always get, the guys hanging back a shooting me in the back when I´m pushing up.

I bought a load of different coloured shemaghs off eBay. Wear my team colour around my neck or on my head. Doesn't ALWAYS work but I find it helps having a good block of colour on my body. Played at a rental field years ago, they had different coloured hoppers for the teams, worked GREAT. |

Works out prety well, i've seen people "lose" their hopper covers and they're easy to hide.

I'm a fan of Yellow/Red Duct tape on arms. I find it works best if its on the "right" arm on each team, since most of this planet is not blessed with the adept use of their left hand, thats the arm that usually gets seen the most. I'm a bigger fan of tape on both arms and on the back of the head (tied to mask straps), but i've still seen team kills with that even.

I wear a ghillie suit, so I rarely get friendly fired upon (or unfriendly for that matter). It does become problematic when the rules require you to wear a neon flashing sign to identify your team affiliation, however. I have round that the best thing to do is to observe before you fire. In tight situations, when you do not have the luxury, FF can (and will) happen. I think that marking people clearly cheapens the game. I like the chaos of not knowing. It forces players to think and it forces teams to develop security. How many times has a lone player strolled up to your command bunker and eliminated everyone, despite multiple security check points, just because everyone assumed they were friendly? Those are great moments for everyone. |
