Patterns. I understand that masking the color is one thing (though strategically placement of colorful sponsor tags is not happen stance) but a pattern of some type (even if its grey and black swirls) was suspected to help.

O.P. You missed your chance, as the ref to tell them then and there to wipe their hopper hits before taking the field.
