| 1st Attempt at Painting my Loader. I tired painting an old Viewloader yesterday. I started off cleaning the the VL and while I was waiting for it to dry, I messed around with some test patterns, etc. to get a feel for using the spray cans I'd bought. After I layered on 3 basecoats of paint made for plastics & let it set for 3+ hours. Afterwards I just kept adding more layers of different types of paint to give it a kind of "desert" look. It was my first try, so I guess it didn't come out too bad. I just have to see if it's durable, easy to clean, etc. If it is then I'll move up a level and try it on my VL Rev. I'd like to get some ideas, pointers, etc. if anybody has any to share with me. Thanks! |

| Did you throw sand in to the mix for texture? Otherwise looks good. E

| I think the "sand" was done on purpose to reduce glare? For that sand-blasted matte style finish? Looks nice. Here is one I did years, and years age. Its actually a VL-2000. Painted by hand ![]()

About $1 more then the other sprays, but I was curious about how it would look. In person the loader looks more OD green then the pictures show. | |

| It's all about lighting... you probably have flourescents in the room... use naturally lighting and it will be green rather than tan. The only draw back to the textured stuff would probably be cleaning the loader... otherwise, like I said it looks good. E
