I agree with this opinion. I shot a few Mini's (never owned one) and didn't care for them. I shot an Axe and bought one. I like it quite a bit. It's not my favorite gun ever...but for the price (especially new price) it's certainly nice!

gotta love the hate

I don't get 10 round tubes for rec ball. As a stock class rule, sure. But for fun? I don't see it. The markers are neat and compact, but those tubes are annoying. I guess as much as HP disliked mags in the old days, I disliked 10 round tubes.

I used to get 10-12 shots for a 12g in the way back. Now I get more than 30. Can I haz 30 (68 caliber) shots from a 10 round tube?

While I recognize the question of reliability (in that if we were to repeat the test it might not repeat the results) I disagree.

When I got back into paintball I recall having been happy with my mini. So I ordered an Axe because it was supposed to be "all that". When I got the Axe I was less than impressed with it. It just did not "feel" right. Now obviously some time had passed between the two.

The solenoid and the bolt system are the exact same. I don't understand how you can say one shoots better than the other. The frame is just spread out a little more and the trigger is a little nicer. I shot both guns, with one in each hand and you can not tell a difference in the shot. Again this is my opinion. I just found it amusing the pirhana said he liked NOTHING about the Mini but, was going to try an Axe. So if you like the Axe, obviously there were some things you like about the Mini.

Anything where its main contribution to the game is purely aesthetic [e.g. hottest new anodizing, milling, tacticool,...etc.]. I'm a function over form person.

Well when I shot them they felt different. Prolly had something to do with the barrel. All I know is the Axe feels better in the hands and look better.

I will give you that. The ergonomics are way better. I have long fingers and found the Mini to be annoyingly (is that a word) small.

That doesn't mean the Axe and Mini I shot had different barrels on...
