Physics in PB help

I remember seeing years a go the math on paintball.

someone calculated the the myth that 15 bps is better then 12 bps, and did the times that no matter if it's 12 bps or 15 bps the time that it took to run through the paint you'd still get hit.

Anyone know where I can find this?

15bps means 20 feet between rounds? and 12bps means 25 feet between rounds?

Does that sound right? A reasonably fit person should be able to sprint between bunkers at 20-30 feet/second.

The odds can be calculated for a target 2 feet wide.

If you are shooting 300 fps those numbers are right. As for odds I think at 15bps going 20 feet in a second being a 2' target you have about 2/3 chance of getting hit.

Don't check out techpb for anything. Not getting hit is a luck roll. Numbers mean nothing.

I read an excellent magazine article about this some years ago, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Numbers always mean something.

Is range a factor? You have to expect certain degrees of variance based on bore to paint match, so I don't think the distance between balls would be constant due to fluctuations in fps. I'm just guessing here though.
