Team Long Stroke
I had a freak'd Phantom barrel that I didn't care for, a few inserts we had fit tighter than others (of course that isn't the problem with the bore, but the fact that AL inserts seem to have tolerance issues) I also noticed that shooting a 681 insert in the Freak'd barrel compared to shooting my Lapco 681 barrel, it wasn't as consistent, and actually reduced velocity compared to the one piece Lapco.
I have a Freak barrel for my electro and it shoots well, provided I'm shooting decent paint. I tossed the Freak option on my Phantom, because it showed a drop in velocity over the system I already used.
Fast is fine, accuracy is final.

Sic Itur Ad Astra
freaking is great for certain barrels or threads ie the threads where the aftermarket is tiny say the phantom for instance or if it's an oddball thread like ICD threads where finding another barrel would be a PITA. I was going to buy a deadlywind for my phantom but I then realized that hey I only ever use 1 size barrel on my trilogy and it shoots everything I've come across lately and that's my .678 lurker. so I decided against buying into the deadlywind and instead went for a freak bore with a .677 insert. I figure if I'm only going to use 1 or 2 sizes no point buying into a kit and not to mention I dunno what it is but an all black phantom with the CF of the deadlywind looks weird. Now if I could make upa CF feedtube and a few other parts and do a black with CF parts theme then ^_^
