Phantom on Line - Long Power Tubes

As an fyi Mike Cassady (www.phantomonline.com) is churning out the old school long power tubes (that the unibodies fed off of) which have a supprisingly quieting effect on Nelson based markers. In addition, they hold up rather well over the years. $15 a pop.

How are they different exactly? How much longer and do they only work on the old unibodies?

they should work in a regular phantom with any velocity adjuster/TPC that doesnt get in the way when it cocks back. which means, they will work in a Retro 7 with the original style open face hex adjusters

I would exercise some caution using them for full velocity with brittle paint... the gas has less room to "open up" behind the ball volume/diameter wise, so while it may be possible to get some extra efficiency/other benefits, it could also be more likely to break paint. Worth playing around with though

So they would interfere with a standard phantom tpc but would work with a drilled tpc?

basically, I think so. depends on the exact length of the tubes whether they interfere with TPC or not, but I'm pretty sure they do.

If they are the same length as the old unibody Phantoms they won't work with a standard tpc without being shortened. Litteraly ran into this recently.

Heck, for 15 clams it'd be worth buying to mess around with even if it ends up not working.

I had a phantom with an open face tpc and that old style power tube. It'll work, but like apoc stated its not friendly with brittle paint. So ya gotta sacrifice something.

They are the same dimensions as the originals.

Great for rebuilding Nelspots and they are just as powerful as the LAPCO #6 tubes.
