Spyders without bolt pins?....

So, I've seen some hate somewhere about how Spyders set up to be a pump without actually being a pump (basically, a fee bolt with a pump handle) are just as bad as autotriggers.

Am I missing something here? It's one pump per shot, the only difference is you can make it blast air down the barrel or shoot air up into your hopper if it's not fully closed... Not too far from an MQ2 pump yet for some reason they're just fine?

as a player i'm fine with it because you still need to pump it, but i hate on it as a modder because that's the easy way out.

Well yeah, but I see people saying that in-game it's got some sort of advantage just like an autotrigger... I'm just wondering what that advantage is.

i would imagine a very light pump stroke. it would have the lightest possible pumpstroke.

But don't MQ'd pumps share that advantage?

Yeah, I guess.

Maybe it's because it takes all of 5 minutes with $10, a drill, dremel, and epoxy as opposed to $300 for a Phantom Revolution (or so I've heard) or $400 for a pump with MQ valve?

I'm making one for my 10 year old brother to shoot in the backyard, but I'm not making one to play.

I'm just trying to find out what the advantage is and I figured MCB would have plenty of people that knew.

New Phantom is a bit more than that isn't it, like $700ish?
