Regulators I'm looking for input on a regulator. My intention is to mount it on a 98 with HPA. MUST: 1. Handle high operating pressures of a 98 (800 range?) 2. Standard ASA output 3. Input at opposite end, macro PLUS: 1. Ability to handle low pressure, so's I can mix things up 2. CO2 compatibility For awhile I had settled on a Stabilizer, but then I saw a photo of one on a 98 and the long distance between ASAs makes it look ridiculous. Right now I have the Tippmann expansion chamber; I'd like to maintain that nice, clean routing. I also considered a Sidewinder, but I'm not sure they can handle the high pressure needed. I didn't find a rating on the two liter Regs, either. Suggestions? PRE-EMPT: This is a nostalgia build. I know I can get better performance for the same price as upgrading a Tippmann. I already have a Mini. Not the point :) |
Unless specifically stated, all hpr can handle the 800psi range. If I remember correctly hp tanks output at 850psi and that is a majority of what is used by players. The only hpr, that I known of, that handles CO2 is a stabilizer. I would suggest a long style CP regulator (has macro fitting built in on the bottom). They are cheap, easy to work on, and are just overall great regs |
Keep your expansion champer and use a female stabilizer as your asa/reg. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTAwWDUwMA..._id=8800005007 |
Take a look into the Maxflow inline as well, they can typically be found used and will handle co2/HPA. |
MCB delivers! Thanks guys, all three comments were helpful. I'll reply with more detail when I get home on a real keyboard and let you know what I go with. Others, feel free to chime in with ideas or info. |

This was gonna be my suggestion. If you really want to tuck it up against the grip; instead of the Palmers mount, use a low mount 1" scope ring and short picatinny/weaver rail bolted to the grip. Both the ring and a short 3 slot rail can be found at Dick's or Wal Mart. |

Sidewinder is also a pretty good choice. |
Very few regs output above 600psi, and even fewer can handle CO2. Stab is your best bet. |
