I used a plastic tub until a field gave me one of those horrendously expensive PE bags for helping with a tournament. It's nice to have multiple places to put stuff. (I like to keep my pants and shoes separate from everything else). A kitchen catcher bag works just fine for that, though.

Plastic tubs are great. I took one of the snap on lid types to EMR last time. Plenty of space, and they pack well in the bed of a pick-up.

I have an older PE gearbag which I love. I actually made some video's about this a while back, but computer issues have kept me from posting them up. Yes, you can get by with less, and do so well. Mike has probably the best cheap idea. But what helps me out is the way that the bag is set up, with it's pockets and the like. I have a main compartment that has two dividers. On one divider, it has barrel loops and a cover for them. So I have five barrels in there, and on that side, I have my pods. It's things like that, organization, that I like. Yes, I do with a cheaper large bag, but then I have various things all over the place, and have to wade and sift through them to get to what I want.

I have a big Nike gym bag for taking to the field. And I have a giant plastic foot locker for the porch closet at my apartment. Where I keep things like late season gear or random things I may or may not ever use. I've recently given away a lot of stuff. Such as pods. Etc. There was a time I entertained the idea of one day getting a gun that requires the use of a hopper. But after awhile I had to accept that it simply was never going to happen so I gave away all my pods

Lots of storage, easy to clean, and it even has wheels.

Seriously though, every field I have ever played at has a parking lot either right next to or a short walk from the safety area. I have always played out of the trunk.

Like you said, I use this at fields except for one.

I use a $35 tactical/swat/military duffle bag I bought at an Army/Navy store.
It has tons of pouches, huge compartment, handles and a shoulder strap. Main difference between that and a huge $200 PE bag is wheels and pretty colors.

I also use a Molle backpack for when I play stock class or pistol. Add a pouch here and there and you're ready to go.

The box from lowes is great. Carries enough for all three of us. About 8-10 guns and all clothing, supplies and snacks! lol

When we get done we throw it in the back of the truck and head home. It has a oring seal on the lid so we don't even have to worry about rain.

Also makes a great between game seat and it has cup holders on the lid!
